Very Funny Investment Advice

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 30, 2008

If you had purchased $2000 of Washington Mutual shares one year ago it would now be worth $2.95.

With AIG, earlier this week your $2000 would have been worth $32.50 while $2000 invested in Lehman Brothers would now be worth less than $5.

However, if you bought $2000 worth of Bud Light one year ago, drank it all, then took the empty cans to an aluminium recycling plant, you would get $214.

So, based on the above statistics the best current investment advice is to drink heavily and recycle.

Did you watch the first presidential debate Friday night?

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 30, 2008

Did you think it settled anything?

Neither McCain nor Obama won or lost the debate.  Though the focus of the debate was supposed to be foreign policy, the first 40 minutes of the debate revolved around the current economic problems.  No great insight from either candidate on the economy.  Don’t they realize this is the issue that cause them to win or lose the election?  One of them really needs to step up.

Maybe in a sense McCain lost the debate.  He should have dominated the debate with his experience.  He did a very good job of name dropping when he was speaking and that was something Obama couldn’t  do.

It was probably a bit more fun to watch either candidate when the other candidate was talking.  Lots of looks of disgust, amusement, and a little disdain on both candidates’ faces.   I guess it is not fun to have your words twisted any which possible or to have to defend some boneheaded position.

McCain’s line seemed to be “Obama isn’t right about anything”.  It’s not like they’re married – he has to be right about something every once in awhile.  McCain claims to be able to work across the aisle, but it didn’t seem like he could during the debate.

Obama gave credit to McCain when he agreed on a point.  Maybe he did it too often, but at least he gave the appearance he could find a middle ground.  He seemed to pick his battles on various points and leave some minor things to the side.

They have 2 more debates to convince us to vote for one of them.   I have great hope that the vice-presidential debate will be a bit more entertaining.  Will Palin look like a deer in headlights or will Biden say something so crazy you just want to call him an idiot?  Note sure which it will be, but I am hoping for both on Thursday night.

We have five more weeks to go in the election, so check out www.104politics.com if you want to stay up to date.

Free Online Advertising For Any Business

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 10, 2008

eBay Inc.Image via Wikipedia

I know most eBay sellers are always looking for a great opportunity to link their online stores with relevant websites and get free online advertising.  Finally found an online business listing with basic FREE advertising services.   104Inc provides endless opportunities for branding, networking and increased exposure.  All I had to do was visit 104inc.com and click on register at the top right of the website.  You fill out your business details and add your website link.  Your profile will be reviewed and then added to relevant domains for free advertising.  If you want to see a complete list of 104 branded sites you can click here .

You can never go wrong with free advertising and what I loved the most about their product is the Geo-Targeting technology, individuals and businesses alike can maximize their potential by easily being located, regardless of size or popularity.  Geotargeting is the practice of customizing an advertisement for a product or service to a specific market based on the geographic location of potential buyers. Every country, province, state, county or city in the world can constitute a niche market for certain products or services at certain times.  On 104inc.com, geotargeting can help small businesses to compete with national brands and can ensure that large corporations effectively make use of their advertising resources.

This was exactly what I was looking for to promote my eBay business and thought I might share with the rest of the eBay community.  Hope it helps!  Please leave comments if this was helpful and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.  Enjoy the FREE advertising.

10 Secret Tips for Free Dropshipping!

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 4, 2008

San Jo...Image via Wikipedia

Many entrepreneurs have found success in the dropshipping industry Sign up for a Free 104inc Trial! For those who aren’t familiar, dropshipping is a business term used for a situation where a seller sets a retail price for an item, collects the payment, sends the wholesale cost to a dropshipper and the item ships directly from their warehouse. In most cases, the seller never even handles the merchandise because every aspect of shipping is handled by the dropshipper. As successful as the industry has become, there are concerns that arise from this method of selling. In order to familiarize you with those concerns and other helpful information, a list of 10 tips has been compiled. Anyone in the dropshipping industry, or who is considering it, should take their time and gather as much information as possible.  Find out what eBay buyers really want!

Free Dropship Tip 1: Check out the dropshipper’s reputation with the Better Business Bureau in their area. How long have they been in business? Has anyone ever filed a consumer complaint against the company? If so, has the complaint been resolved? This information can be found at http://www.BBB.org.

Free Dropship Tip 2: Ask the dropshipper how quickly they will be able to fulfill and ship the order. Be sure to inquire about whether or not a tracking number will be available. The tracking number will be very important because, if an item doesn’t arrive, you will need to have some means to track the purchase and to make sure that it was shipped. If a customer doesn’t receive a product, they will look to you for answers.

Free Dropship Tip 3:
If you are dropshipping, this means that the item you are selling is not in your possession. It’s very important to let your customers know this. Sellers should indicate that the item will ship directly from your supplier.

Free Dropship Tip 4: An important factor to consider is the delivery time. It’s pertinent to let buyers know that, because the item is shipping directly from your supplier, they may need to allow extra time for delivery. Make sure to ask your dropshipper how long delivery takes so that you may pass this information on to your buyers.

Free Dropship Tip 5: If a problem should arise during the course of shipment, or if a shipment is delayed, promptly address the issue with your buyer. It’s important to have good communication and to let your customers know that you are always there to answer their questions.

Free Dropship Tip 6: Be cautious of a dropshipper who requires that you pay a fee to access their product line. A legitimate dropshipper should not charge to set up an account unless they set up a feed or website for your business.

Free Dropship Tip 7:
When ordering from a dropshipping company like BuyatDiscounts.com, there should not be a minimum order. It’s normal to get discounts on larger quantities, but the dropshipper should be able to accommodate any order size from 1 to 100.

Free Dropship Tip 8: Consider doing business with more than one dropshipping company. It’s always a good idea to shop around for a larger variety of better deals. Don’t put all of your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

Free Dropship Tip 9: When you begin doing business with a new dropshipping company, order a few test products for yourself. Afterall, you are the one who will be selling the products and you will want to make sure the company offers quality products, reliability and accuracy in filling orders.

Free Dropship Tip 10: The whole idea behind dropshipping is wholesale. You are buying a product at such a low price that you should be able to sell it for a profit. The dropshipper is the wholesaler and you become the retailer. It’s easy to forget that some things really are too good to be true. Just like everything else, there are scams out there so be careful. The bottom line is that regardless of how wonderful the deals may seem, start slow and build up to larger orders as you become more comfortable with the process.  Start dropshipping today at 104Dropship.com

Reverse Mortgages: is it Right for You?

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 4, 2008

old manImage via Wikipedia

Over the years, you worked hard to own your home. Now there’s a way to put your home to work for you. A Reverse Mortgage provides the security of knowing you have funds available for planned or unexpected expenses. This kind of loan can never cause you to lose your home. The funds you receive during your loan term, plus interest, do not become due until you sell or vacate your home.

A Reverse Mortgage can optimize cash flow and promote peace of mind. It can contribute to a more contented and secure retirement. Use the money to supplement your pension or social security income, for home repairs, buying a car, unexpected expenses, even put it toward a new home – whatever you choose.

Reverse Mortgages are specifically designed for, and exclusively available to, older homeowners who have substantial home equity. Applicants must agree to receive no-cost (face-to-face or telephone) mortgage counseling from a HUD-approved counseling agency to explain your options and confirm your eligibility.

A Reverse Mortgage gives you flexible access to your home equity. “Term” payments are non-taxable monthly payments for a specified period of time. “Tenure” payments are non-taxable monthly payments for as long as you occupy your home. I can show you payment examples to better illustrate possible payments amounts.

You do not need to repay the loan as long as you or one of the borrowers continue to live in the house. You will be responsible for maintaining the property and making necessary home repairs, as well as paying property taxes and homeowners insurance premiums. When you sell or leave your home, the funds you received during your loan term, plus any accrued interest, become due. Any home sale proceeds in excess of the amount you owe belong to you or to your estate.

If, at any time, the loan exceeds the value of the property, the repayment amount will be no more than the value of the property. Mortgage insurance will cover any balance due to the lender. No additional financial claims may be made.

After the loan is repaid, any home sale proceeds in excess of the amount you owe your mortgage lender belong to you or to your estate.

To learn more information please visit 104inc.com and search for local representatives in your area for more information regarding reverse mortgages

Country First and Change Second Say Republicans

Posted by 104Inc.com on September 4, 2008

You little whippersnapper!Image by sloomis08 via Flickr

Another week, another political convention. This week kicks off the Republican National Convention that will see the nomination of John McCain for President and Sarah Palin for Vice-President, though the schedule is in flux with Hurricane Gustav that has landed in Louisiana.

McCain named Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, as his running mate on August 29th. She was more or less a surprise pick. She is not well known on the national scene, at least from a media perspective.

The first day of the convention was greatly abbreviated. The only real speakers were Laura Bush and Cindy McCain putting out a call for help for the areas affected by Gustav. They also made announcements of some projects that the Republicans will be undertaking to help victims of Gustav. This fit with the theme for the day: Service.

The theme for Tuesday is Reform. The keynote speech is supposed to be given by Rudy Guiliani. Also, Mike Huckabee, one of McCain’s opponents, and five other current and former Governors will be speaking. There will be several other governors speaking over the remaining days.

Wednesday the theme will be Prosperity. Palin will be speaking that night and it will give her a chance to let America know her. Also speaking will be Mitt Romney, Meg Whitman, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, and possibly Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal. It is kind of odd though that the Republican website for the convention hasn’t been updated with Palin’s name.

Thursday will be John McCain’s day. The theme for the final day of the convention is Peace. The day is supposed to showcase McCain’s idea of American goodwill and our pursuit of peace in the world. McCain tops off the evening with his acceptance speech. Then the campaign can begin with 60 days until Election Day.

The convention schedule will be very flexible and may change on any day in response to the events of Gustav. One of the places you can keep up with the ever changing world is 104inc.com.
